Line 6 POD HD500

Austin uses a Line 6 HD500, which he has nicknamed HAL-9000, for all of his modulation, EQ, reverb, compression, and noise gate. Austin also uses the hi quality amp modeling of the HD500 to record demos and as an audio interface for recording. His tone is achieve through the Mesa Mini Rectifier but the icing on the cake is added with this floor processor. Austin's HD500 patches will be available for download soon.

Dunlop Crybaby From Hell Dimebag Darrell Signature Wah

For all of Austin's wah wah needs he relies on the Dunlop Crybaby from Hell. This wah designed by the late Dimebag Darrell is completely customizable in every aspect. making it the most versatile wah on the market today. This pedal covers everything from funk wahs to diving metal wails with this turn of a knob making perfect for Quarter Life Crisis Covers and Breakcell originals alike.

Rocktron Banshee Talkbox

The Rocktron Banshee Talkbox is a talkbox designed for a heavier tone which is why it is Austin's talkbox of choice. It's dark and heavy tone is great for metal players but surprisingly this talkbox has a great clean natural talkbox aspect to it as well, making it perfect for Quarter Life Crisis' cover of "Do You Feel Like We Do?" by Peter Frampton. However with a turn of the gain knob it's easy to get the dark growling talkbox tone of Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box."

Digitech Whammy

No metal guitarist's rig is complete without a Digitech Whammy pedal and Austin Kritzer is no exception. A timeless classic capable of pitch bends and harmonies, this pedal is an essential part of Austin's setup. It is used on various songs and solos that add space and character every time it is called upon.

Digitech DF-7 Distortion Factory

The Digitech DF-7 was, at one point, the heart of Austin's tone. This remarkable distortion pedal has 7 classic pedals crammed inside of it. This pedal has the ability to cover smooth cleans with a hint of breakup to blistering metal tones. Now this pedal sits in Austin's rig as an overdive pedal to help Austin's solos cut through the mix.

Electro-Harmonix Switchblade Plus

Austin uses an Electro-Harmonix Switchblade Plus channel selector in the studio in order to record a dry guitar tone into the recording interface, while hearing a processed guitar tone from an amplifier in the sound room. Recording a dry tone allows Austin to re-amp the tone later if he chooses. Therefore he never has to commit to a tone in the studio until he is completely happy with it. The pedal also has live applications, allowing Austin to switch between 2 amplifiers on the fly or play out of 2 amplifiers simultaneously.
