Microphones & Vocal Processing

Line 6 XD-V30

For all of his wireless vocal applications Austin uses the Line 6 XD-V30 wirelss handled microphone. Line 6 uses digital wireless as opposed to UHF transmission making their wireless units extremely easy to use. The sound quality is also crystal clear and is perfect for live vocalists.

Shure SM-58

For vocal studio applications Austin does not stray from the crowd and opts for a Shure SM-58. This time tested microphone captures vocals in the purest way possible and is set as the industry standard for vocals.

Shure SM-57

Just like the SM-58, the SM-57 is an industry standard. However this is the microphone of choice for capturing instruments. Austin Uses this mic in the studio to record guitar tracks. He also uses the SM-57 live as the microphone dedicated to his talkbox. It produces clear unaltered sound that captures tone perfectly.

Digitech Vocal 300

Austin does not rely heavily on vocal processors but he does use a Digitech Vocal 300 for its reverb and delay features. This unit can do everything from harmonize to pitch bends but Austin does not use these features live or in the studio. He also uses the pedals EQ feature live to add a little bottom end to his vocal sound.
